Back End Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary:

Ensure that all back-end equipment is maintained and operating efficiently to produce safe, high-quality cans from the end of the washer/dryer through the pallet staging area.

Responsibilities:

• Perform setup, maintenance, and ensure efficient operation of flangers, beaders, light testers, lacquer spray machines, IBOs, palletizers, and strappers.
• Maintain and set up all back-end conveying systems, including single filers and can transfer apparatus.
• Flanged can height
• Factory finished can height
• Flange width
• Flange angle
• Axial load
• Panel resistance
• Bead depth
• Rolling bead diameter and placement
• Plug diameter
• Oven temperature checks

• Perform visual checks to ensure compliance and take corrective action as needed.
• Complete required documentation, including process check sheets, logbooks, and maintenance checklists.
• Perform Equipment Setup Evaluations (ESE) and make necessary adjustments.
• Assist in other areas to maintain smooth plant operations.
• Ensure a clean and safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to safely operate a production forklift.
• Basic knowledge of computer systems, gauges, tools, and equipment.
• Experience using precision measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.

• Pay Rate: $39.9205/hour
