Tool Die Maker

Job Summary:

This role plays a critical role in the maintenance and operation of high-speed manufacturing equipment that produces aluminum cans, Texas manufacturing facility. This role requires proficiency in operating various manual machines and performing repairs, as well as ensuring smooth production through maintenance and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

• Operate manual machine shop equipment (grinder, lathe, mill) to create replacement parts for production equipment.
• Demonstrate proficiency in reading part and assembly drawings, as well as troubleshooting machine parts such as shifts, bushings, and brackets.
• Interpret blueprints and perform repairs and rebuilding of various production equipment, including clutches, stamping presses, and conveyors.
• Fabricate equipment guards, rails, and chutes, and possess knowledge of metals, threads, and fits.
• Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment to ensure maximum efficiency.
• Safely secure and move equipment using forklifts as required.
• Ensure tasks are completed with a high sense of urgency and minimal guidance.
• Work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
• Manage tooling inventories, setup tool packs, and measure precision tolerances.
• Collaborate closely with the operations team to address production and equipment issues and develop effective solutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Five (5) plus years of experience as a Tool & Die Maker or Maintenance Machinist.
• Proficient in operating manual machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders.
• Strong ability to read part drawings and assembly drawings.
• Experience in interpreting blueprints and performing machine repairs.
• Proficiency in performing preventive maintenance on equipment and handling tooling inventories.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Salary:

The salary for this position is up to $37 per hour, based on experience.
